China will mark Japan's surrender in World War II with festivities including a ballet performance, ten feature-length films, and 12 television dramas prepared by the Chinese government, according to South China Morning Post.

The merriment will run for three days from September 3 to 5. There will be art exhibitions, documentaries, animations for kids, and a list of cultural products, the State Council Information Office said on Monday. The country will show 180 plays, dances, musical performances, concerts, and dramas, as quoted from Reuters.

According to Tian Jin, vice minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, five new movies will make their debut on cinemas in early September.

The Vice-Minister of Culture Dong Wei has explained that the events is meant to help the public strengthen their nationalism and increase their self-confidence and national dignity.

The most anticipated part of the show is a military parade, which some high-ranking Western officials are expected to attend. According to reports, it is also believed that the parade is a camouflage for China to declare its military power. Some fear that the parade will launch the anti-Japanese campaign at an international level.

China will display forces from seven military area commands, as well as heroic soldiers and new weaponry during the V-Day military parade. Officials have revealed that foreign troops have also been invited to partake in the ceremony. Some Kuomintang (KMT) veterans are expected to participate in the event.

The Second World War, which involves many countries across the globe, is believed to have led to the deaths of over 50 million people - making it the bloodiest conflict in history.
