Four Israeli teachers were arrested on Monday for luring their students and co-workers to join the terrorist group ISIS.

Shin Bet, the country's security agency, announced on Monday that six suspected terrorists, all part of the Abu Alkyan clan in Hura, were arrested including three primary school teachers from Hura and Rahat Elementary School. The six ISIS supporters allegedly conducted secret meetings in a local cell and planned to join the terrorist forces in Syria.

Teachers Bashir Abu Alkyan, Akram Abu Alkyan, Muhammad Al'ab Ahmed Abu Alkyan, and Hamza Abu Alkyan along with Issa Abu Alkyan and Sharif Abu Alkyan, whose jobs are unidentified, were charged with supporting a terror group, possessing, disseminating and publicizing materials of an illegal organization, and conspiring to commit a crime and leave the country unlawfully, Haaretz reported.

The suspects' ages range from early 20s to early 30s.

The teachers reportedly utilized their position in the classroom to propagate the disciplines, goals, and beliefs of ISIS. They showed maps of future Islamic empire to the students and made them listen to songs praising ISIS.

Muhammad Abu Alkyan, a high school teacher in Hura, showed his support in ISIS through some of his sermons at the Hamzeh Mosque in Hura.

"We should act in the strongest possible way against teachers who take advantage of their jobs in such an unspeakable way," CNN quoted Israel's education minister Naftali Bennett. "Instead of guarding the students, they harm them."

Bennett further said that the Israeli government will uphold a clean education system and will not allow anyone to contaminate their children.

At one point, Bashir Abu Alkyan uploaded a video admiring Osama Bin Laden and even created a Facebook page to spread ISIS doctrines and inviting some 1,500 people to join the movement. The video and Facebook page have since been deleted in the request of Bashir's family.

Shin Bet said that the suspects' co-teachers were interrogated, including the school principal, who all denied knowledge about the illegal activities.
