Two weeks after being spotted hurriedly arriving and leaving the apartment of alleged boyfriend Li Ronghao in Beijing, 31-year-old Taiwanese actress Rainie Yang was seen sporting a ring on her finger. This prompted netizens to hazard a guess that the band might be from Li and that they might be engaged.

Yang displayed the black ring through a selfie on her social media account, which had the caption, "My biggest wish is for others to appreciate the simple things in life." Rumors went abuzz and, as if to put words in the netizens' mouths, Yang's friend Fish Leong asked, "Is that an engagement ring?" Yang quickly refuted the speculation and explained that she was merely ranting. Leong then apologized and expressed her agreement with Yang's post.

In February, Li posted a picture of him wrapping an arm around Yang's neck and smiling cheek-to-cheek. The Chinese singer immediately deleted the photo but rumors regarding their relationship have already spread. Weibo users were also quick to notice that the two have been "indirectly" interacting with each other through their posts. According to Yang, she and Li are just "good friends" who are comfortable talking with each other.

News of Yang getting married is not new. In Jan. 2014, tabloids ran the story of a certain businessman courting Yang despite the actress's rumored relationship with Prince of Mandopop boy band JPM. Reports further claimed that Yang's mother approved of the suitor, identified as Mr. Lin, and declared that her daughter was marrying soon. Yang denied the claims and insisted that she does not know such person.

"What rich guy? I don't know any Mr. Lin. It's hard on the reporter who has to handle all kinds of ridiculous inside news. We artists are unlucky too!" Asian Pop News quoted Yang.

Yang and Li met in 2007 when he composed one of her songs. The singer-actress has since showed her support for Li's music by promoting his album and attending his concert. Close friends have also confirmed that the pair are open about liking each other. In response to questions about when will she finally reveal her love life's status, Yang said, "We'll only publicize it if we're getting married."
