A skeleton with a "conehead" is unearthed by archaeologist near Chelyabinsk, a Russian city to the east of the Ural Mountains.

The skeleton with an unusual head that is unearthed from the archaeological site of Arkaim, a 4000 years old settlement is believed to be a woman from the Sarmati tribe. The "conehead" of the skeleton made UFO enthusiast claim that it belong to an extra-terrestrial being that might have visited earth around 2000 years ago, reported RT Question More.

Researcher Maria Makurova has confirmed to the Russian news agency TASS: "We have found a well-preserved skeleton. I would not exclude the possibility that the skeleton belongs to a woman from the Sarmati tribe that lived in the territories of what is now modern day Ukraine, Kazakhstan and southern Russia." She also added that "Her skull was elongated because the tribe did so by tying up the heads of their children with rope. It was clearly a tradition in the tribe," according to Daily Mail.

The archaeologists explained that the egg shape of the skull is the effect of a tradition that was followed by the Sarmati tribes. They used to bind the head of the baby with a rope which might have made the head grow into an unusual shape, reported Yahoo News. Though the researcher Makurova said they strongly believe that the "conehead" is an outcome of tribal tradition they are still looking out for theories to support the fact.

The skeleton found in the 4000 years old Arkaim settlement is reported to age between 200 and 300 AD making it 2000 years younger than the archaeological site. Many spectacular discoveries including some of the Bronze Age artefacts were obtained from Arkaim archaeological site after its discovery in 1987.

Arkaim settlement covers an area of 20,439 square meters had two circles of dwellings which was separated by a street with a community square in the centre. The place was protected by high walls built around the site and had a population of 1,500 to 2000 people.

Arkaim is compared with Stonehenge in England since they used stars for observation but the former is considered technologically advanced than the later as well as had the favourable atmospheric conditions for astronomical observations.
