The highly anticipated "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is returning without any familiar old character in it. The news came from BioWare's Chris Wynn, where he stated that returning characters "just don't make sense."

According to Design Trend, a brand new gameplay and design was recently shown without any hint of a returning character on the game. Wynn did not give any further details on the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" characters, but revealed some sneak peek about the new video game. Wynn also went to elaborate that as far the storyline goes, there is really no need to add old characters.

The "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is said to be more of an improvement of the "Mass Effect 3," and the absence of recurring character only proves that their statement of "far away and long after" for the next "Mass Effect" segment just proves to be true. Given the millennial gap between the last episode and the new one, fans should expect that characters have already gone extinct. The "Mass Effect: Andromeda" has also been developed to have a different combat style from its predecessor. As mentioned on the Design Trend website, the new features included in the combat style of Andromeda made it even more exciting and appealing to fans.

The new "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is currently based in the titular galaxy where all the action and combat fights occur, whereas its predecessor occurred in the Milky Way, giving another reason why there will be no recurring characters involved this time. Wynn was also unable to disclose any of the other characters in the video game, just few elements from the previous game such as choice races and the Mako. According to VG247, nothing about the characters can be confirmed yet as the storyline is still in the process where tweaks and revisions is still very possible.

In the BioWare's Blog, the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is set to be released in the holiday of 2016. The trailer was built in a new engine called Frostbite that significantly showed how BioWare wanted the game to look like.
