'Final Fantasy XV' Update: New Driving Gameplay, Eidolons, Locations Revealed [VIDEO]; Square Enix To Announce Launch Date On March 2016!

New updates for Square Enix's latest Final Fantasy sequel, "Final Fantasy XV" have been revealed regarding new gameplay, locations, Eidolons and launch date announcement for next year.

According to Siliconera, "Final Fantasy XV" director Hajime Tabata has showcased some new gameplay footage for the latest sequel in Square Enix's Active Time report at the PAX Prime event. Gamers have witness first hand the driving gameplay within "FFXV" as Noctis and crew will cruise around in their slick new wheels, Regalia.

Tabata explained that gamers can drive Regalia in either automatic or manual modes. Automatic lets Ignis drive Reglia to it coordinated destination, while gamers can view the scenery and have coversations with Gladius, Ignis and Prompto.

In manual gameplay, players can drive Regalia and they will notice the gasoline marker indicating how much gas can the car use while on the road. Like any other car players must refuel it as Square Enix explained that Cindy will be there to fix Regalia via special valet feature in "Final Fantasy XV". Players can change different camera views when traveling and can stop and step out of the car if they which to explore a particular area on foot.

Square Enix will showcase more of the driving features in "FFXV" at Tokyo Game Show 2015.


Aside from the car gameplay, Square Enix has also revealed one of th Eidolon's names in "Final Fantasy XV". According to Gameranx, the first Eidolon is named Leviathan and she is the first female Eidolon within the game. The Eidolons in the game were involved in the creation of the world and they are gendered based, each with there won unique language.

Leviathan will be first cited in Altissia and described as intelligent, able to disguise herself and moves like liquid.

Square Enix also revealed four new locations in "FFXV". The first is Altissa, which was mentioned as the home of Leviathan, is a set of islands that border near a waterfall. The second is Lestallum, a city the is slightly based on Cuba which features an extraterrestrial crater. Hammerhead is a mechanic station that will fix Regalia anytime and Caem, a port city that lets players rent a boat.

Square Enix mentioned that the story of "FFXV" will not have any connection to th Fabula Nova Crystallis arc, although they share the same DNA, it will be treated as a separate canon.

Lastly, Gamerant reports that Tabata and Square Enix has decided that launch date announcement for "Final Fantasy XV" will happen on March 2016 during a special Square Enix event in that month.

With that in mind, the website speculated that Square Enix is aiming to release "FFXV" during the holiday season of 2016 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

Previous reports have also speculated that Square Enix will likely add airships in the game, not to mention a possible PC version of the title after the release of the console versions.

"Final Fantasy XV" will be release sometime in 2016 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
