Five years after the release of "Avatar the Last Airbender" Shyamalan says that he is more than ready to begin conceptualizing, directing, and producing the next movie. According to Movie News Guide, he was adamant in defending the previous movie adaptation of the Nickelodeon hit cartoon series.

"It's really weird because on the show the average age was, like, nine-years-old. So you could make it one of two ways: You could make it for that same audience, which is what I did - for nine and 10-year-olds - or you could do the Transformers version and have Megan Fox... I didn't do that," says Shyamalan in defense of the "Avatar the Last Airbender" movie.

Shyamalan, according to VC Post will try his best to finish the movie trilogy, just as the series from Nickelodeon that was also composed of three exciting parts. The last part of the 2010 movie introduced Azula, the sister of Prince Zuko, who will prove to be a very powerful nemesis to Avatar Aang and his team. He also said that the first draft of the script has already been penned.

The 2010 movie adaptation of the Emmy awarded television series for children starred Noah Ringer as Aang, the last airbender, who is also the Avatar, Dev Patel as Prince Zuko, Nicola Peltz as Katara and Jackson Rathbone played as Sokka, the brother of Katara. Shyamalan is still unsure if the actors from the first film will be reprising their roles.
