Current WBC International heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) is reportedly looking ahead to his potential dream matchup with reigning world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) ahead of his bout with Scottish Gary Cornish (21-0, 12 KOs) on Saturday at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London.

The 25-year-old Briton will meet his fellow undefeated fighter Cornish for the vacant British heavyweight title this weekend and is still scheduled to fight Dillian Whyte in December, but he had already expressed his desire to face Klitschko sometime next year.

"I need to get rid of Cornish so I can keep knocking on the door for world titles. I think it will be next year. 20-0 would be a good point to fight for a world title, or even 18-0," the Watford, England native said, as reported by The Telegraph.

"If I can get past Cornish, move on to Dillian in December and keep on winning, he'll still be around and me and Klitschko can get it on," Joshua added, referring to the 39-year-old fighter's declaration that he would still have five more fights before he calls it quits.

The Daily Mirror indicated that Joshua is hoping that he would be the one to end Klitschko's nine-year reign as world heavyweight king next year, even as the Ukrainian is set to defend them against fellow-Briton Tyson Fury on October 24.

Joshua believes that the "mark of a good champion is someone who dethrones the king", again referring to Klitschko. He also said that their fight would be a "good story" and a "massive clash" between the reigning champ against the next one.

When asked by reporters if Cornish has the potential to make it a longer fight, Joshua casually replied "nah", signaling the he intends to finish the Scot earlier than the third round where none of his fights have so far not went beyond.

He would be facing Whyte in December, seen as a more dangerous opponent, and both had been trading verbal insults even before the Cornish fight had started, as per SkySports.

Joshua became a professional fighter just in 2013, considered a little late than most of the famous heavyweight world champions that have emerged. He is a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics and is considered as one of the finest amateur boxers of this generation.
