U.S. Federal Authorities Recover Hillary Clinton's 'Deleted' Emails

Hilary Clinton Private Email Server Hacking Attempts

(Photo : Reuters) A congressional report has revealed that hackers from China, South Korea and Germany attempted to gain access to Hilary Clinton's emails via her private email server after she stepped down from her post as secretary of state in 2013.

Federal authorities have successfully retrieved Hillary Clinton's emails, which had allegedly been deleted from the computer server. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is concerned that those emails may contain a number of classified government information.

Bloomberg reported that FBI agents were able to recover most, if not all, of the emails stored in Clinton's private server. The fact that federal investigators were successful in their tasks may indicate that those controversial emails will soon be available for everyone to read. Political detractors are already questioning Clinton's indiscretion of mixing her personal correspondence with government emails in her capacity as Secretary of State at that time.

An anonymous source told reporters that the FBI will need a few months to examine the tens of thousands of recovered emails. Clinton said that at least half of those online correspondence were personal.

The Democratic presidential candidate declared that all her government emails were removed. Hard copies of the official business emails are already in the government archives as of December last year. Federal investigators managed to get hold of the private server where Clinton's email were stored and deleted.

Many politicians from the Republican party berated Clinton for allowing sensitive government information to be exposed in the open. Recent polls show that a number of American voters who once supported Clinton are already switching their support to other candidates because of the email issue.

So far, Clinton has refused to respond to reporters' questions about the matter.

To be clear, Clinton is not facing any charged as of the moment. In order to be charged, the government must prove that the former State secretary deliberately let her government emails leak out.

The presidential candidate explained that she wanted to avoid using two different email addresses, which is why she stuck with hrod17@clintonemail.com to send and respond to all personal and government contacts.

Members of Congress may use their legislative powers to compel the FBI to reveal the contents of the emails. The Bureau may, however, delay giving the information if their probe is not yet complete. There are certain privacy laws that mandates the protection of personal data even from a Congressional inquiry.
