Team China once again proves its superiority in Asian basketball after defeating its rival, Gilas Pilipinas, in the recently concluded 2015 FIBA Asia Championship finals match held on Saturday, Oct. 3. The Chinese squad won the crown, 78-67, after a heart-pounding game held in Changsha, Hunan, China.

The Dragons managed to dominate all quarters of the game with the help of its key players, Gen Li, Muhao Li, Peng Zhou, Qi Zhou, Ailun Guo and Jianlian Yi. According to the finals game statistics posted on FIBA website, Q. Zhou led the team with his 16 points and 14 rebounds while Guo had 19 points.

Likewise, the other players showed their determination to win the battle and grab the lone outright berth in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. China once again regained the FIBA Asia glory.

Coach Gong Luming's men succeeded in containing the Philippines' main players including Andray Blatche (center) and Jayson William (guard) who only scored 8 points. All the time, the boys like Xiaochuan Zhai and the rest of the team played superb defense and unreluctant offense. The China basketball team's record remained unblemished in the entire 2015 FIBA Asian cup.

Meanwhile, the Filipino warriors did their best to upset China's impressive game plan execution but they came out short as most of their shots were not coming in. Blatche only got 17 points and 5 rebounds while William only scored 8 points.

Coach Thomas Baldwin's team settled for the silver after the 4th quarter. Gilas now has to compete at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament next year from July 5 to 16 to obtain a slot in the Rio Olympics.

The Chinese crowd roared and the arena was filled with much bliss and celebration after the battle as their champions, the China Dragons, grabbed the 2015 FIBA Asia championship crown.
