The storyline centers on the first parts of the game franchise which is mostly the war between humans and orcs. The movie trailer starts when the orcish horde, confronted with impending end of their world, quickly travel via a mysterious portal to Azeroth, the world of man.

The film's director was interviewed a few months back and said that he would very much like to make a movie trilogy for Warcraft. If the upcoming movie proves to be a smashing success, then a second and third Warcraft movie would certainly follow. Jones admitted that the has been a fan of the Warcraft games series since Warcraft I Orcs Vs. Humans was released.

The game franchise features more than human and orcs, over the years other races such as elves and undead as well as pandas have been introduced. Fans would surely like to see them in succeeding Warcarft films since the first movie will only focus on the two main races.

Critics described the trailer as faithful recreation of the Warcraft that gamers and fans knew too well. The breathtaking scenes and the brutal combat between the human defenders and orc invaders will surely enthrall both gamers and non-gamers alike.

This will be the first venture into movie making by the Activision-Blizzard tandem but the game developer promised to release movies based on Call of Duty and television animation show, Skylanders, according to Engadget.
