Japanese consumer electronics company Nintendo announced on Nov. 20 that it is opening its official eBay store. The eBay store will sell both refurbished and new copies of games, accessories and Nintendo consoles.

Despite being available on eBay, none of these products are offered at a discount. Everything sold on the Nintendo eBay store still conforms to the official pricing on Nintendo's online store. Many tech analysts said that the only thing that is different is that doing transactions on eBay is much less of a clutter compared to doing the same transaction over Nintendo's official store.

According to Engadget, Nintendo opening its official store on eBay, although unexpected, is a good idea for the company. Nintendo's online store is virtually unknown to most online shoppers, except maybe to the ones who already know about it.

Opening a store on eBay means that Nintendo can reach a far bigger customer base that it currently has. Ebay is a well-established brand in the online shopping and e-commerce industry, thus giving Nintendo additional visibility in the online marketplace platform.

Tech analysts also agree that shopping on eBay, especially for those who have an eBay account, is far less of a hassle than doing transactions on Nintendo's online shop.

Nintendo's eBay store is still in its early stage. As of this writing, there are only 34 items for sale and only one of them is listed below its official retail price. On the other hand, it is still worth checking especially with the holiday season fast approaching.

Among the items currently on offer in Nintendo's eBay store are 2DS systems and Wii Remote Plus controllers. Copies of video games like the "New Super Mario Bros." and "Super Mario 3D Land" are also availalble, according to NYSE Post.

Both Nintendo and eBay has yet to announce whether the new Nintendo store will offer discounts and other perks in the future.
