Bryan Cranston Moved to Tears After Discussing Pivotal 'Breaking Bad' Scene

Beloved actor Bryan Cranston, best known for his lead roles in Malcolm in the Middle and most recently, as Walter White in Breaking Bad, joins Inside the Actor's Studio and talks about one of the most pivotal scenes in the hit series.

In the scene, Walter watches and does nothing as Jesse's  (played by Aaron Paul) girlfriend, Jane (played by Krysten Ritter-now on the critically acclaimed Netflix show, Jessica Jones) overdoses on heroin.

He describes how his character Walter was roused to Jane's side after she started coughing, and just as he's about to help her, he stops and realizes that this is the reason why his partner, Jesse, got into heroin. Letting Jane die and doing nothing means Walter could save Jesse from spiraling down. But Cranston, being a father himself, couldn't help but see the face of his own daughter while the scene played out - an overwhelming feeling that the actor says he didn't see coming.

Shaken by the visual, Cranston openly tears up at the thought of his 22-year old, Taylor Dearden, going through what Jane had gone through in the fictional scene.

Shifting from less emotionally harrowing and dark Hollywood material, Cranston will next be seen in the much anticipated animated film, Kung Fu Panda 3, where he will play Li-Shang, alongside an all-star voice cast that includes Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, J.K. Simmons, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu and Kate Hudson.

In the pipeline for the actor is the crime drama The Infiltrator with Diane Kruger, Benjamin Bratt and John Leguizamo, as well as the Trumbo, an American biographical fim where he plays Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo.
