The Galaxy A3 will sport a 4.7-inch 1,280x720 display. The Galaxy A5 has a slightly bigger 5.2-inch screen with 1,920x1080 resolution. The Galaxy A7 has the largest screen among the three at 5.5 inches, but still with a 1,920x1080 resolution display.

All three models will sport Super AMOLED display, which is thinner and lighter than the screens usually used on other phones such as the iPhone.

The new editions will be equipped with Samsung Exynos processors. The A3 will be powered by a quad-core 1.5 GHz chip, while the other two will have octa-core 1.6GHz processors each.

Memory will also vary for the three models, with the A3 having 1.5GB of RAM; the A5 having 2GB; and the A7 having 3GB. All three will have base a 16 GB internal storage space, expandable via the use of a microSD card inserted in the slot.

CNET reports that all three will have good cameras, dual-SIM functionality, Samsung S-Voice support and Samsung KNOX security features. However, those who would want Samsung Pay conveniences should choose from either the A5 or A7 only.

These 2016 edition Galaxy A series smartphones is the Korean company's attempt to enter the affordable phone scene, alongside rival Chinese mobile phone companies Huawei and Xiaomi. Prices are reported to start at $350.

These phones are scheduled for a mid-December release first in China, before eventually being released around the world.
