During an interview on British TV show "Loose Women" on Tuesday, actor Burt Reynolds shared that Charlie Sheen deserves to be HIV-positive.

"He's handled it badly, I think. His father (Martin) is a very, very decent man and a dear friend of mine. I feel bad for him but Charlie, I don't feel bad for him. He's getting what he deserves. If you're going to misbehave like that, they're going to get you," Reynolds stated.

His comment immediately sparked angry comments on social media, with people tweeting that the 79 years old actor's comments were ignorant and uncalled for.

Sheen admitted last month on "Today" with Matt Lauer that he is indeed HIV-positive, and that he has had to pay off some of his former sexual partners to keep his illness a secret. The 50-year old former "Two and a Half Men" star said that he found out he had the virus four years ago.

The actor confessed that he has slept with prostitutes, and that he contracted HIV due to his promiscuity.

He also stated in court documents that his ex-fiance, Brett Rossi, knew of his condition, and still insisted that they have unprotected sex despite the fact that she was also sleeping with other men.

Rossi, who had already received a large settlement from the actor, recently filed a $5 million lawsuit against the actor for assault and battery. Sheen denies claims that he assaulted Rossi and forced her to get an abortion.
