Priv became a best selling item for Blackberry after the initial week of its release in Nov. There was a backorder on the said phone and Amazon was reportedly out of stock at that time.

BlackBerry Priv's success may be due to its specs along with a security software that Blackberry offers which other Android smartphones fail to provide. Blackberry Priv comes with a 5.4 inch sized dual-curved screen and a storage capacity of 32GB. The 3410 mAh battery can provide 22.5 hours of power. Android Lillipop 5.1.1, powers the phone, which is being sold at $699 (for the unlocked version).

Blackberry CEO John Chen said the company would not remain in the  device industry if their phones were not making profit. With that said, the company is doing everything possible to make its devices more profitable.

Blackberry Priv was initially released on Nov. 6 and one of the first companies who offered the phone was AT&T. It will not be available on Verizon until the early part of 2016. The exact date of release has not been announced yet for Sprint.
