A new puzzle platform video game set to be released in February 2016 is slowly making waves in the online gaming community. The game is called "Unravel" and it features an adorable game character known as Yarny.

"Unravel" is a new game from Electronic Arts who worked on the project along with independent studio Coldwood. The two companies announced on Monday that the game will be released internationally on Feb. 9. It will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.

The game was first announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is a physics-based puzzle platform game set in the picturesque region of Northern Sweden, the same region where the game developer Coldwood is based.

The objective of the game is to control Yarny as it journeys to mend broken bonds. However, the character only has a limited length of yarn and must complete missions without running out of this precious resource. The game, due to its puzzle platform game style, features several obstacles for players to negotiate.

The two companies said in a statement, "Some challenges are simple, like using Yarny's thread to swing across a gap, or rappel down a tree. But others are more complex, and players will need to use Yarny's threat in clever and creative ways to find the path forward."

The developers claim that "Unravel" has a deep psychological theme to it, especially towards the notion of unconditional love. The game is expected to deliver a heartfelt story that focuses on love and the bonds that keep people together.

Coldwood creative director Martin Sahlin said that he is hoping that "Unravel" will inspire players as well as feel the game's emotional bond to them.

Sahlin said in a statement, "Yarny's quest is to mend broken bonds and the yarn represents the love and connection between people. Along the way, we'll test your cleverness with environment-based puzzles inspired by our home in Northern Sweden."

The game will cost $19.99 in North America. For EA Access subscribers, they will have the chance to play "Unravel" before the Feb. 9 official release date as well as get a 10 percent discount for the game's Xbox One version.
