Microsoft Corporation has unveiled a new update to OneNote, its well-liked Android app for taking handwritten and typed notes.

The app allows a user to jot down notes using his finger or a stylus, which is better on tablets that can distinguish the tool's input from a finger's inputs. Subscribers to the service will be able to pen on a newly lined digital paper or draw over existing documents after the update is downloaded.

Users have been drawn to OneNote because of its plethora of abilities. They can clip sections from Internet pages; retrieve pictures from the device's camera album and let the user annotate the images.

Existing documents initially made on a desktop computer or another device can be e-mailed to the app and opened to ready it for editing.

The program also has more formatting options and interface modifications better suited to larger tablet displays. Microsoft has added printing support and highlighted the capability of inserting PDFs into documents on the Metro build of OneNote, according to Tech Crunch.

The application is also great for group projects, providing every member has an Android device, since it makes collaboration a snap. Members of a team can work from different locations and process one project in real time, notating and commenting on images, notes and diagrams.

OneNote was clearly updated with the tech-savvy students in mind, from the primary school-goers to those who are college-bound.
