Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched a new handset in the "Redmi" series called Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which feature the Snapdragon 650 chipset. The launch was done via a Weibo post on the company's official account.

Xiaomi Redmi 3 will come in different colors including Champagne Gold, Dark Grey, and Silver.

The Smartphone comes in two models; the Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 and the Qualcomm-powered model. The Qualcomm-powered variant sports an all-metallic body and a fingerprint scanner is located at the back of the handset. The handheld device will go on sale in China on the company's official website.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the latest Redmi device is that it is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz and two cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The device features a 5.5-inch full-HD 1080x1920 pixels IPS display and offers 178 degree viewing angle. It will come in two RAM and storage models; one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage, and another with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The company has not yet giving the price of the Redmi Note 3.

The handset runs MIUI 7 based on the Android Lollipop operating system. It features dual 4G SIM cards slot and is powered by a 4000mAh capacity battery that supports fast charging. According to the company, the device can be charged up to 50 percent in 1 hour.

In addition, the phone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) capabilities and two-tone flash, while the front shooter has a 5-megapixel front camera.  The Redmi Note 3 measures 150x76x8.65mm and weighs 164 grams. It supports 4G LTE (compatible with Indian LTE bands), 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, Glonass, and Micro-USB.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Smartphone will be retailed for the price of CNY 999.
