Latest NBA trade rumors have emerged that the Orlando Magic are trying to snag Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin in a potential blockbuster trade.

Fansided reported that Orlando is "attempting to make a major trade with the Los Angeles Clippers" and the center of such deal is none other than the Clippers' five-time All-Star big man Griffin.

The 26-year-old first overall pick of the 2009 NBA Draft has been mentioned in a lot of recent trade speculations as Doc Rivers is allegedly trying to change things up in LA to hopefully stay at par with the Western Conference's big guns Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Basketball Insider's Steve Kyler confirmed that the Magic is one of the teams interested in negotiating with the Clips and are "swinging for the fences" to possibly acquire Griffin.

One problem for Orlando, though, is that the team does not have enough assets to convince Los Angeles of a worthwhile deal. While it is always possible to trade for Griffin, the Magic will be at risk of losing their talented young key players just to pull it off, which would be a disadvantage for all parties involved.

Head coach Scott Skiles could consider letting go of Tobias Harris and Victor Olapido, both highly-skilled young players with tons of potential, as the two are allegedly already on the trading block anyway. He also has a versatile, young center in Nikola Vucevic that the Clippers could consider.

However, in terms of talent, experience, and "overall impact on the game", none of them comes close to what Griffin can offer. LA could agree to trade Griffin in exchange for all three, but that would be too much of a blow for the Magic to handle.

Orlando is currently at the no. 11 spot of the Eastern Conference standings with a 23-29 slate but they had been 4-15 so far in 2016, which indicates that they indeed need a roster shakeup.

RealGM noted that the Clips have received multiple trade proposals for Griffin in this trade season, but Rivers is said to be keen on keeping the 6-foot-10 high-flying forward.

"Blake's ours and he's going to stay ours," the champion coach said before the Clippers' 107-93 win over the Magic last week.
