Floyd Mayweather Breaks Silence over 50 Cent's Reading Challenge

Floyd Mayweather has responded with regards to 50 Cent's challenge, choosing to remind people how much money he has instead of taking the challenge. He eeven posted a picture of his paychecks on his Twitter account to show how much he was earning.

Last week, 50 Cent challenged the athlete to read an entire page of one Harry Potter book without messing up. 50 said that if he Mayweather could do that and show proof, he would be donating US$750,000 to any charity that Mayweather might choose. The challenge was likened to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

And so, Mayweather posted on Twitter which he captioned "Read this $72,276,000.00. God bless." 50 also responded to the tweet with a video which he captioned with: "I guess you want people to see your math is better than your reading. Get a account Floyd, the people around you are using you.if you mad at me call me or come see me."

The video which 50 posted had a lot of strong and explicit language saying that Mayweather knows 50 has money and that the paychecks must have been for a blogger.

Mayweather indeed is the highest-paid athlete in the world. Forbes released a report in June saying the boxer earned at least US$105 million last year.

Aside from 50 mocking the boxer's reading skills, a DJ called Charlmagne Tha God from Power 105 also mocked the boxer on air. He even played an audio clip of Mayweather reading a promotional stint when he was in the said radio station.

Mayweather has explained his inability to read back in 2007. He told Daily News that he had to take care of his mother and he decided that school was not that important during that time. He added that's when he started using boxing to earn a living.
