The 2022 Winter Olympics in China is expected to be "fantastic, extraordinary and excellent."

Per instruction of President Xi Jinping, the organizers of the upcoming Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will particularly happen in Beijing,  must ensure that they are not only going to satisfy the Chinese spectators but the international community as well.

Therefore, ideas on innovation, coordination, green development, opening-up and sharing must be considered in order for the hosting to be successful, Xi said after listening to the top organizers' reports on Friday, reported China Daily.

Meanwhile, following the successful bid of the country to host the Olympics, the Chinese leader pointed out that for them to "host an Olympics as pure and clean as snow," the government needs to review the budget allocated for it and make sure that the costs are supervised and controlled.

With China moving towards the creation of an economic belt and environment-friendly zone integrating Beijing with Hebei Province and Tianjin, a port city to the capital's southeast, the 2022 Winter Olympics hosting will serve as a strong push for the planned integration.

The highly-anticipated international sports event happening in China, which will be co-hosted by Zhangjiakou, is a systematic project that reportedly needs the wisdom and resources of everyone.

In the meantime, Xi emphasized that by having an extraordinary 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, China will have the opportunity to showcase its achievements, especially in its efforts towards reform while encouraging peace and development across races.

It can be recalled that it was during the International Olympic Committee Session on July 31, 2015 when the President presented China's bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
