Tech giant Apple recently released iOS 9.3, which comes with several new features including Touch ID for Notes, Night Shift, new Apple Music options for CarPlay, as well as a handful of new enhancements. Unfortunately, the iOS 9.3 update has caused some glitches for a small group of iPad users, who claim that their devices were bricked after the update.

These users claim that they updated their iPad devices via iTunes and the Software Update feature in the Settings app. Several users posted their complaints on the Apple Support Communities. Apparently, a significant number of the affected devices are iPad 2 models.

According to Forbes, the affected users claim to have receive an error message that reads: "Your iPad could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPad to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. If this problem persists, contact apple support at apple.com/support."

Tech experts have highlighted that the error message states that the problem will be fixed once the activation service becomes available. However, affected users claim that the problem still persists about three days later.

One affected user even claims that an Apple Store employee was not able to fix the problem and has no idea how to resolve it. A similar bug was reported about a year ago when Apple released the iOS 9. However, the problem that surfaced last year mainly affected iPhone devices which were reported to be stuck on the "slide to upgrade" screen.

Apple is yet to release a statement acknowledging the existence of the problem. On the other hand, some Apple Support Community users have provided a handful of workarounds in order to temporarily fix the issue.

Aside from the activation bug, some users who opted to upgrade their devices also reported the Night Shift bug which, according to complaints, only works on devices that have a 64-bit processor.
