Jodie Foster to Join ‘Hannibal’ Season 3?

Rumor has it the Emmy nominee actress and director Jodie Foster will be joining the production of NBC's 'Hannibal' as a director for its upcoming season due for release next year.

Jodie Foster has been nominated on this year's Emmy's for directing the TV series 'Orange is the New Black' which has been garnering awards as of late. The actress-director was spotted taking snapshots with 'Hannibal' producer Bryan Fuller.

According to a media outlet, Jodie Foster joined the HBO Emmy party and has been spotted having a conversation with Bryan Fuller. The producer was said to have been talking the 51-year old actress to join the production team of the psychological thriller drama for its third season.

The actress was said to have been noncommittal about the whole matter, but she did say she will be thinking it over.

In addition, Bryan Fuller has taken to Twitter to post a photograph he had taken with Jodie Foster during the HBO Emmy party, captioning it, "WHEN #HANNIBAL WORLDS COLLIDE."

In the past, Jodie Foster has won an Oscar for translating the character of Clarice Starling in the 1991 film 'Silence of the Lambs' which features Sir Anthony Hopkins who played the role of the iconic Hannibal Lecter. His portrayal of the cannibalistic doctor and gourmet cook has also won him an Oscar.

Reports say that Jodie Foster has turned down an offer for her to portray Clarice Starling again in the 2001 production of Hannibal, stating that she didn't have any intention of playing said character again.

On the other hand, 'Hannibal' will be continuing with a third season. The new production will reportedly be filling in the gaps on what happened on the final episode through the fourth episode of the third season.

Bryan Fuller shared his excitement about what they would be showcasing for the new season of 'Hannibal'.

'Hannibal' is said to be begin its third season's production next week.
