The 28th Twenty20 of the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between Suresh Raina's Gujarat Lions and David Millers Kings XI Punjab on Sunday. The two sides will take on each other at Lions' home ground Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

The Gujarat Lions are standing at top spot of IPL 2016 points table with six wins out of seven matches. The Lions beat Rising Pune Supergiants by three wickets in a thrilling encounter on Thursday. Gujarat's openers Dwayne Smith ( 63 off 37 balls) and Brendon McCullum ( 43 off 22 deliveries) guided their side to chase down a massive target of 196.  

Skipper Suresh Raina praised Smith and McCullum for their brilliant performance. "Close win. Baz and Smith did the damage in first six overs. Jimmy had a good birthday tonight. When you have a target in mind, you can attack the first six overs. It is working for us," he said.

Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, placed at the bottom of eight team standings with just a single win out of six matches. The David Miller-led side is now desperate to register its second win. However, the struggling Punjab face tough task against in-form Lions.
