Stephen Curry fans who have been waiting for updates on his injury may have reason to smile, as their idol might be ready to play in Game 3 of the Golden States Warriors' Western Conference series versus the Portland Trailblazers.

In fact, the reigning NBA MVP has already resumed light shooting, although he is still avoiding movement on his injured right knee in the hope of being able to join the team's scrimmages by the end of this week, according to ESPN.

In an interview with ESPN during the sidelines of Game 1 between the Warriors and Portland, the 28-year-old point guard revealed that his chances of playing in Game 3 seem to be "very good."

"To me they're pretty good so I'll do anything I can this week to make that happen," Stephen Curry said, validating recent updates that his injury was slowly improving.

The NBA's leading scorer sprained his MCL when he slipped on a wet spot before halftime in Golden State's Game 4 win against the Houston Rockets.

However, he will still have to test his injured knee by putting pressure on it when he shoots baskets and plants it on the ground during the team's 5-on-5 scrimmages.

Earlier, Coach Steve Kerr disclosed that the possibility of the three-time NBA All-Star suiting up for Game 2 on Tuesday may be "pretty slim."

"It just depends how his week goes," Kerr said, as he gave more updates on Stephen Curry's injury. "We'll just monitor him and see how it goes and hopefully get him back at some point. It's nice to have that long break between 2 and 3."

The Warriors' General Manager Bob Myers also wasn't too optimistic on the star player's immediate return to the hard court, as he might need to rest for another two weeks based on the experience of other players who had similar injuries.

But according to Stephen Curry's updates on his injury, he is optimistic that he will be ready to resume action soon, saying, "I'm looking forward to getting back on the court, maybe a practice setting and see how it feels."
