(Photo : China Photos/Getty Images) Daring rescues, such as this in 2005 (pictured above), have been successfully carried out by China's firefighters.

In what looks like a scene from an action movie, rescuers were able to subdue a woman who was attempting suicide - by going out the window to kick her back inside to safety, news reports say.

The unidentified woman was seen prepping herself up on a window ledge in her flat, located in the fifth floor of a building in Xuzhuo in eastern China's Jiangsu province, reports China National Radio. Photos of the incident showed her as visibly upset and holding a rat poison in her hands last Wednesday.

After being alerted of the problem, rescuers quickly responded and went entered the flat to persuade her to move back inside and stay away from the window where she might jump to her demise. While the rescuers effectively distracted her, other rescuers went up one floor above the woman's flat to go on with their rescue.

One of the rescuers went out of the window directly above the suicidal woman, and went down by rope to kick the woman back into the flat while being assisted by others in the team. Inside the room, the other rescuers were able to subdue her and ensure her safety.

Reasons as to why she wanted to commit suicide are still unclear.

Daring Rescue

Rescues such as this can also be done by people who are concerned about others. Last month, it was reported that a young Chinese man was rescued by internet friends after her posted his plans to kill himself in an online forum.

Zhang, as the 23-year-old suicidal was named, suffered a breakup with his girlfriend from Shangqiu, Henan. Depressed, he planned to kill himself in April 24.However, before doing so he posted his plans in an online forum where concerned netizens persuaded him to change his mind.

Not persuaded, Zhang went to his girlfriend's house to take a photo of him with his wrists slit and bleeding. He then uploaded the photo to the online forum.

Alarmed, two of the forum's administrators persuaded him to talk with them on the phone. He talked to them, and was later persuaded not to go on with his plan. They went to his girlfriend, and later to the hospital so that his wrists could be treated.

Zhang admitted that he had decided to do that on impulse. He thanked everyone who showed concern, and said that he will not do that again.
