American Horror Story season 6 will have fewer cast members, according to actor Finn Wittrock.

Speaking with TheWrap, the 31-year old actor said, "I have heard it is going to be a little tighter -- there were so many story lines in the last one ['Hotel'], and it was so big and epic, I have a feeling it might be a little more claustrophobic. A smaller cast."

While Wittrock has legitimate details regarding season 6 of American Horror Story, his role in the new season is still yet to be confirmed.

"There's a little film stuff happening so it might be tough schedule wise, but yeah, I definitely want to do it," Wittrock said. The American Horror Story mainstay has recently joined the cast of Landline, an upcoming comedy, set in 1995 in Manhattan. It follows the story of the Jacobs - women-mom (Edie Falco) and sisters Dana (Jenny Slate) and Ali (Abby Quinn) - as they go through the world of drugs, sex, and Japanese food.

Fans should not worry so much, however, as while he has not been officially made a part of season 6, Wittrock has confirmed that he is in talks with the creators regarding a potential role in the sixth season.

"I've talked about doing a few episodes, but nothing has been set in stone," Wittrock said. "I think they literally keep us in the dark so we can't spill the beans even if we wanted to. I've heard lots of different rumors about it, but even last year, I didn't know about 'Hotel' until a few months before we started. I know that they are actively writing it right now -- they are still figuring out what to do."

The theme of American Horror Story's season 6 has not been disclosed. However, according to Ryan Murphy, the co-creator of the show, the new installment will explain how all the seasons are interconnected.

When asked when or where it will be set in, FX Network President John Landgraf replied with a vague but teasing answer, "It's set in two time periods but principally in the present."

American Horror Story returning cast members are Lady Gaga, Evan Peters and Angela Bassett. Season 6 is set to premiere in October.
