Many analysts consider Asia as the biggest market when it comes to tech products. India andChina are two of the biggest untapped markets in Asia.

According to Apple Insider, Analyst Gene Munster claims that only 17 percent of India's 1.2 billion citizen own a smartphone. In 2015, Apple devices made up around three to five percent of India's smartphone market. Compared to China, where smartphone users make up about 58 percent of Apple's 1.37 billion consumers, India has the biggest market potential for tech giants to tap into.

Munster estimates that if Apple uses the same market strategy it applied in China, the tech giant would be able to acquire at least 10 million more iPhone users in India. That figure will jump to as much as 16 million iOS users assuming that current Apple users in the Indian market will be carried over.

However, the biggest hurdle is spending power. Indian citizens, on average, are less wealthy compared to their Chines counterparts. Considering the current price point of Apple devices, Indian consumers will no doubt look for more affordable alternatives rather than shelling out loads of cash for a tech device, according to Phone Arena.

Another thing is that India lacks accessible 4G LTE networks. This will hinder users from using many features of the iPhone as well as connected services which are the bedrock of Apple's iOS platform.
