New insider information has surfaced claiming that the release date of the highly anticipated open-space exploratory video game "No Man's Sky" has been pushed back. The ambitious project was supposed to be released in June, but due to some unforeseen circumstances the date is allegedly being pushed back to July or August.

According to Kotaku, a source said that the game has not yet been finalized. The game has enjoyed so much publicity and hype since it was revealed back in 2013. It was featured on "The Stephen Colbert Show" as well as The New Yorker.

Hello Games announced in October 2015 that the game will be ready by June this year. However, according to the leak, it appears that the game might hit the shelves a little longer than anticipated.

Kotaku claims that a reliable source shed details about the delay on Wednesday, May 25. A secondary source who works at GameStop told Kotaku that they received some market materials for "No Man's Sky" still bearing the original release date of June 21. However, retail stores received an update stating that the release date is no longer valid, and they were told to cover it with a label that states "Coming Soon."

A handful of photographs also surfaced on the Internet showing that the original June 21 release date has been covered with the pop-on cover with the label "Coming Soon."

On the other hand, online retailers like Amazon still show that "No Man's Sky" will be released on June 21, according to Forbes. Although this might spark some confusion, a significant portion of the gaming community still believe that the game will be released on time. Especially since Hello Games and Sony are yet to comment on the recent news regarding the delay of "No Man's Sky."
