'Injustice 2' Gameplay

Injustice 2's gameplay trailer, revealed during the ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League season three finals, featured returning fighters Batman, Aquaman and Superman as well as new additions like Supergirl, Aquaman's nemesis Black Manta, Red Lantern leader Atrocitus and telepathic Gorilla Grodd.

Earlier this week, Flash was already confirmed to be included in 2013's sequel Injustice: Gods Among Us in a cinematic trailer that dropped ahead of the title's gameplay reveal.

DC Heroes in Action

The first Injustice game featured a variety of DC superheroes and villains and followed a story that saw an alternative universe version of Superman. The Kryptonian-native was seen as a despotic tyrant after the Joker tricked him into killing a pregnant Lois Lane.

There are no major hints about Injustice 2 as of now. However, the new gameplay trailer also shows Superman going toe-to-toe with Batman in an epic battle.

The upcoming game will allow players to use a host of DC characters, which they can personalize with unique gear as they progress through the game, battling it out in a number of arenas, including iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis.

The trailer was well received by many fans, who took to social media to express their excitement.

Injustice 2 will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017. It is expected that more details will be revealed at E3 2016. Watch the gameplay trailer below.
