The director built his production studio and partnered with Sony for the new game after a mysterious dismissal from Konami.

The titular character of the new game is portrayed by Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus. Reedus worked previously with Kojima in an abandoned Silent Hill sequel.

Kojima Productions said that Death Stranding will be exclusive to PS4. However, subsequent games may or may not be exclusive to Sony's console.

The trailer for the game shows Reedus walking naked on a beach with one handcuff around his wrist. He then picks up a naked crying baby into his arms. Then the baby disappears, and in place he finds a black stain on his hands. The oily stains then appear as a child's hand prints on the sand, walking away from him. When Reedus got up, he sees that the desolate beach is now surrounded by dead whales.

At the end of the trailer, Kojima included Norman Reedus in the production credits, confirming that it was Reedus' face fans saw in the trailer.

While the trailer did not reveal much, Kojima's work is one of the most anticipated works this year. The famed game creator has a solid fan base.
