CBA News: Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami of Iran Set to Play for Foshan Long-Lions

The Chinese Basketball Association club Foshan Long Long-Lions has propped up the team's lineup with the addition of two-time FIBA Asia Championship All-Star Selection member Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami of Iran.

The former captain of the Iran Men's National Basketball Team has signed with the Foshan, Guangdong-based Chinese professional basketball team, according to the 6-foot-6 forward's agent, Aydin Dianat.

Nikkhah Bahrami played most recently with the Azad University Basketball Club in the Iranian Basketball Super League. The 33-year old Iranian national recorded very impressive statistics, averaging 26.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 blocked shots in the four official games he played last season.

In the 2014-15 season, the native of Tehran played for Petrochimi Bandar Imam. Bahrami played 18 games for the Mahsharh-based basketball side and was the team's third leading scorer, averaging 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest.

During that season, he was able to help Petrochimi reach the championship round of the Iranian league, though they lost to the eventual champions Mahram Tehran.

Bahrami first played in the Chinese Basketball Association by signing in with the Fujian Sturgeons in 2013-14 season. He is averaging 16.6 points, 5.7 boards, 4.1 assists, and 1.5 steals in 31 games played for the Jinjiang, Quanzhou-based ball squad.

Last season, Bahrami played for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls and helped the team to an eighth-place finish. In his 38 games with the Golden Bulls, he averaged 17.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 dimes, and 1.7 steals in 39.3 minutes of playing time.
