The engineers of Elephone have been developing ELE user interface (UI) for months, and now it is ready for the spotlight. Users that purchase the Elephone S3 smartphone will be the first ones to use it; however, the UI is fully optional.

Users can do either OTA updates or use Elephone's own customization of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. They can update it using OTA in the device's settings. They can choose from the Android original UI and ELE Launcher.

The UI is in the form of a launcher with custom app icons. However, it does not have app drawer.

It has been upgraded to provide an easy user experience and to provide visual aesthetics. The UI also comes with themes and icon packs.

Elephone works continuously to enhance hardware and software, since the company is trying to remove their controversial reputation regarding firmware updates. Their older phones may be left behind, but at least, Elephone S3 is getting the full package.

Elephone S3 has a 5.2-inch full high-definition display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It is protected with Dragontrail Glass. It features a bezel-less, back-curved design with a side frame similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

It has a 13-megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with a 2100 mAh battery, dual-SIM card slot, fingerprint scanner, and three color options: silver, gold, and gray.

Elephone Mobile has also released a video to aid users in understanding the Elephone S3, with an ELE UI side by side with another Elephone S3 with the classic Android launcher.
