Chinese smartphone manufacturer UMi has released a new set of photos highlighting the façade of its upcoming device; the UMi London. The UMi London is an entry-level smartphone marketed as an all-around and durable device for those who are on a tight budget.

While most entry-level smartphones are plagued with durability problems and lack of features, the UMi is a notable exception. The smartphone is made from premium quality materials, and its hardware specs could easily beat out the rest of the competition.

UMi London is wholly developed with DG Twin-Shield Technology. A new type of screen protection that combines 2.5D enhanced protective glass and 3N pressure absorption tape. With such technology protecting its display, UMi claims that the London smartphone can handily survive a free fall drop from heights of up to six meters.

In terms of hardware specs, the UMi London is not a pushover. It has a 5-inch SHARP IPS display that supports HD resolution. At its heart is a quad-core MT6580 processor clocked 1.3GHz. Since the device is marketed as an entry level device, it only has 1GB of memory and 8GB of storage space which can be expanded for up to 32GB through SD card support. The supported connectivity options on the device are GPS, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, GSM, and Bluetooth 4.0.

In terms of camera specs, the UMi London has an 8-megapixel rear facing camera with a Sony IMX149 sensor. It also has a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Powering the device is a 2,050mAh battery pack which is powerful enough to last nine hours of internet browsing, 11 hours of video playback and 42 hours of music playback. The London runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box. All these impressive specs are built in a sturdy aluminum chassis that not only adds durability to the device, but also a premium touch.
