China Mobile recently announced its partnership with Huawei to bring 4.5G technology Distributed MIMO to 4G network at Bund, a spot in Shanghai known for its high Internet traffic density and tricky wireless network.

Huawei said the project aims to create a user-friendly network experience. The company added that it is a milestone compared to traditional base-station network constructions still prevalent in many parts of the world and not only China.

By adopting the user-friendly network system, the interference can be redirected and used again as signals. Through this approach, network infrastructures can easily solve the problem of network clogging caused by insufficient capacity especially in densely populated cities like Shanghai.

Many analysts attribute network congestion to the growing number of mobile users in the towns like Shanghai. The ever increasing popularity of high definition videos and bandwidth-extensive contents are also the culprit for the rise in network traffic.

Tests show that user-friendly network system can reach cell capacity of up to 140Mbps, about 35 percent better than traditional network systems. On single-user systems, the setup reached 15Mbps which is about 80 percent better than conventional network systems.

In a press statement, Huawei TD-LTE General Manager Xu Xuebing said, "Huawei makes great efforts in developing innovations and exploring technological evolution in the field of TDD. By adopting 5G technology on 4G networks well in advance, operators can transform interference into useful signals, resolving challenges brought on by dense site deployment."
