Several reports have surfaced claiming that Homtom is working on a new summer phone that is targeted towards a younger demographics. While many tech analysts have dismissed this news as just a marketing strategy, a couple of leaked specs have got the tech community buzzing about the upcoming smartphone from Homtom.

The smartphone, dubbed the Homtom HT16, would reportedly be available in several vibrant colors. The smartphone sports a plastic back cover that has a delicate texture, and just below the camera module is the Homtom logo.

The Homtom HT16 is expected to support dual-SIM and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone would support full gesture control as well as off screen features. The smartphone has a 3000mAh battery pack. There are speculations that the phone's battery saving mode will allow the device to save up to 20 percent of battery power.

According to Giz China, a handful of leaked information has confirmed that the Homtom HT16 will have an MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz from MediaTek. It also has an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfie shots.

According to Droid Chart, the Homtom HT16 will have 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. There are speculations that the device would have a 5-inch IPS display.

The official release date of the Homtom HT16 has not yet been confirmed. However, it is expected to cost over $60.
