Newly-promoted side Yanbian Funde FC (6-8-4, 22 points) will try to continue their winning run against an equally surging squad Guangzhou R&F FC (8-7-4, 28 points) at the Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium on Saturday, July 23 as the 2016 Chinese Super League season moves forward.

The Yanji residents, who are currently on a two-game winning run, were scheduled to meet capital city team Beijing Guoan FC on Wednesday, but the match was postponed for undisclosed reasons.

Their last game was a stunning 3-0 upset over powerhouse team Jiangsu Suning FC also at their home field in Yanji last Saturday, CCTV English reported.

Imports Kim Seung-dae and Bubacarr Trawally scored a goal each at the 49th and 68th minutes while local winger Akbar Ahmetjan sealed the win at the 77th.

It was the second straight time that Yanbian was able to defeat a contender this term as they also blanked Shanghai Shenhua, 2-0, in their home field in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou R&F also pulled off a stunner, defeating the current league leaders and defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande, 2-1, at the Yuexiushan Stadium on Wednesday, via Soccerway.

The Southern China Tigers drew first blood with a goal from Brazilian midfielder Ricardo Goulart at the 32nd minute.

However, head coach Dragan Stojković's men fought back in the second half with two goals, courtesy of Jang Hyun-Soo and Eran Zahavi at the 56th and 79th minutes respectively, to pull off the come-from-behind win.

The Israeli national team captain also provided the assist in Jang's goal as the newly-acquired striker proved to be the difference between the two squads.

It was the fourth consecutive win for the Blue Lions and they are highly favored to extend their streak to five games in this road match versus Yanbian.

The predicted result is a 3-0 rout for Guangzhou R&F.
