In 2014, Chinese idols Lu Han and Kris Wu filed a case against their agency, SM Entertainment, demanding for their contracts to be nullified on grounds of uneven profit distribution and health issues. Both musicians left EXO to pursue solo careers in China.

Now, the long dispute between the two talents and SM Entertainment has finally drawn to close. The presiding court recommended for the two parties to reconcile. The final ruling stated that Lu and Wu's contracts are still effective until 2022 as they originally agreed with the company.

Furthermore, according to AllKpop, both talents will share part of their earning with their former agency despite not being members of EXO anymore.

On July 21, Thursday, Lu and Wu released their respective statements regarding the matter, stating that they have reached a consensus with SM Entertainment, Soompi reported.

The current companies that Lu and Wu work for in China have announced that the case is closed, sharing the good news that both are free to establish careers in China without being controlled by SM Entertainment.

Lu and Wu's agencies also released statements to confirm reports regarding the contractual dispute. Their agencies stated that the musician's contracts are valid until 2022. Furthermore, it is said that Lu and Wu are mandated to be under SM Entertainment's management should they promote in Korea and Japan.

Lu is currently filming "Time Raiders" while Wu is currently promoting his latest film, "Never Gone."

In related news, Huang Zitao, also a former member of EXO, left SM Entertainment and filed for the nullification of his contract in August last year.
