Shaanxi Xinda Wolves Stretches Winning Streak, Routs Jiangsu Lions in 24th Round of Chinese NBL

League leading team Shaanxi Xinda Wolves continued to uphold its grip to the top of the team standing after beating Jiangsu Lions with a dominating 132-107 triumph in the 24th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Friday at Xian.

With the win, the Wolves improved to an NBL's best win-loss record of 22-2. The Zhengxiu Jiang-headed basketball team is currently the No. 1 club in the league's table for the regular season. Shaanxi is on a six-game winning streak.

According to Asia-Basket, former Marshall University Thundering Herd player Tyler Wilkerson led the Wolves with a double-double production of game-high 35 points and 15 rebounds, along with three blocked shots and one steal in 42 minutes of playing.  The 27-year-old 6-foot-8-inch tall American power-forward went 41 for 26 from the field including four three-pointers from beyond the arc area and made 3 of 5 from the foul line.

Former Clemson University Tigers player James Mays finished the game with a double-double performance of 23 points and 14 boards for the victors. Local players DaPeng Yang had 16 markers while Xiang Liqing and Xiao Hang Yu contributed a combined 18 points for Shaanxi.

According to EuroBasket, during the game, Shaanxi controlled the boards and moved the ball very well. The Wolves out-rebounded the opposing team 62-38 including a 46-28 advantage in the defensive boards and outplayed the Lions with a better 26 assists compared to the 19 of Jiangsu.

Domestic player Ming Yang Gao paced Jiangsu with team-high 26 points and 5 rebounds while the American basketball reinforcement James Tyler had 18 points and 21 rebounds.  Xing Chen Wang added 17 markers while TingYu Yin and Lin Yifu chipped in 16 points apiece for the Lions.
