Chinese manufacturer Teclast has announced the successor to its X98 Plus tablet device, the aptly named X98 Plus II. Although the new device does not pack any major enhancements or upgrades, the X98 Plus II comes with an upgraded memory compared to its predecessor.

The new Teclast X98 Plus II sports 2GB of internal memory, which might be considered as a minor upgrade compared to the previous model. While it retains most of its original specs, Teclast decided to slash down the price of the X98 Plus II to make it appealing to consumers.

The Teclast X98 Plus II is about $50 cheaper than the previous model, putting its price at around $146 including shipment fee. While the specs of the tablet may not be of premium grade, it is a very affordable alternative for users who wants to have a tablet experience.

At the heart of the Teclast X98 Plus II is an Intel Z8300 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage space which can be expanded via the microSD slot, according to Gear Best. The tablet has a 9.7-inch IPS display with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. It has a 2-megapixel camera and a massive 8,000mAh battery pack.

One of the many interesting features of the Teclast X98 Plus II is that it supports dual-boot for Android 5.1 and Windows 10. This means that users can enjoy both Android and Windows experience for the price of a single device.

According to Giz China, the Teclast X98 Plus II is only available via pre-order currently. Shipment is scheduled to start in the first week of August.
