Reeling squad Tianjin Teda FC continued their slow descent in the overall standings of the 2016 Chinese Super League season after settling to a 2-2 draw with mercurial team Liaoning Whowin FC on Sunday at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium.

The draw actually snapped the Tianjin Tigers' two-game losing streak, but then it dropped them to the 12th spot of the current league table as the team has been winless in their last eight outings.

They are still four points adrift of the bottom two relegation area currently held by Shijiazhuang Ever Bright and Changchun Yatai, but if they do not get out of their rut soon, then they may be in danger of demotion.

Local midfielder Hu Rentian scored a brace to lead Tianjin while Liaoning import James Chamanga duplicated his feat to preserve the draw.

The 25-year-old Chengdu, Sichuan native scored the opening goal right at the sixth minute for head coach Dragan Okuka's side to give them a semblance of hope that they could finally earn a win in the said match, as per Xinhuanet.

However, two straight goals from the visitors, courtesy of 36-year-old Zambian striker Chamanga at the ninth and 27th minutes off assists from Anthony Ujah and Yang Yu respectively, turned over the momentum to Whowin as they grabbed the lead, 2-1, at halftime.

The Tigers were close to suffering their third straight loss as time slowly ran out, but Hu netted his second goal of the evening right at the stroke of full time to salvage the tie and the share of a point with Liaoning in the overall standings, via Soccerway.

While Tianjin is reeling, manager Ma Lin's boys had been inconsistent in their last six matches, winning two, losing two, and drawing two as well alternately. The team is currently at 10th place in the standings, only two points ahead of the Tigers and six points above the bottom two relegation zone with 10 games left in their campaign this term.
