The GFXBench benchmark result was for a device with a codename ZTE C2017, according to Giz China. Although not much can be figured out from that, there are speculations that it is the highly anticipated ZTE Axon Max 2.

According to the GFXBench listing, the mystery ZTE device packs a 6-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. It packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, an Adreno 506 graphics processing unit, 4GB of memory, and 64GB of storage space, according to Phone Arena. The Snapdragon 625 is widely regarded as a powerful chipset that does not require too much power, resulting in extended battery life.

Rumors claim that the upcoming ZTE smartphone would have high-quality audio specs and features. Speculations point to a possible Hi-Fi audio chip, dual front-facing speakers, and a high-end amp.

Now that tidbits of information have already leaked, many in the tech community are expecting ZTE to confirm the status of the Axon Max 2. ZTE is yet to comment on the authenticity of the leak, probably to build more hype around the device. The Axon Max was released on Dec. 31, 2015; this has led many to expect that the Axon Max 2 would probably hit the market before the end of the year.
