According to a detailed report on Attackofthefanboy, it is to be believed that a certain gamer, who prefers to be addressed as aboutseventeen, was amongst one of those who posted the review. Apparently, this user has posted the entire experience and seems to have presented quite a convincing case. Soon after the gamer used the new mods, the PC received a virus establishing the suspicion that the new mods are malware infected.

In the post, the user has described a detailed experience covering every stage and also detailing the next steps that the users can take. Meanwhile another report on PC gamer confirms the malware infestation and warns users to take quick action against it in order to prevent their system's security from being compromised. To be on the safer side, links to all the mods have been removed by GTA5-Mods.com.

The official statement also explains that the new "GTA 5" mods were extremely popular amongst gamers because they were living up to their expectations. However, what it also did was spawn a thread that installed malware on the machine behind the scenes, reports said. The major cause of concern is that the virus goes undetected and therefore the problem did not arise during the initial stages. But now the makers have warned the users and also asked them to remove the mod, along with changing the passwords to avoid the security breach.
