Recent rumors have emerged that retired bench tactician and current New York Knicks president Phil Jackson will be back to coach the Knicks next season albeit for the team's home games only.

In a comprehensive article by ESPN senior writer Ramona Shelburne, one paragraph stood out when it comes to the possible future of the 70-year-old 11-time NBA champion coach:

"There's even talk Jackson could offer to coach home games next season, with Rambis coaching the road games. It's an offer the late Lakers owner Jerry Buss once flatly rejected, but it could be an interesting compromise to hiring Rambis as the head coach next season," the article says.

Whether the rumors are true or not, it seems like Jackson is already sick and tired of failing with the Knicks, something that he is not accustomed to in his entire coaching career, and perhaps wants to be more hands on to really start making a noticeable change in the franchise moving forward.

However, For The Win's Charles Curtis noted that the "hypothetical" plan is "an awful idea for a variety of reasons", saying that two heads are not necessarily better than one when it comes to head coaching as "there will almost certainly be a moment when something Rambis does in a road game will directly contradict what Jackson would do".

Curtis continued that "if Jackson is even remotely considering this wacky idea, he should instead focus on how to keep Anthony happy (or how to maximize his trade value, if that ends up being the case) and what it will take to attract a star free agent to sign".

Meanwhile, team leader Carmelo Anthony is reportedly unwilling to have that kind of coaching condition, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.

"No. No. No. I don't think that should be accepted," said Anthony after being asked about the rumored coaching partition. "I wouldn't accept that if that was the case. Phil is cool, man. He don't need to be on the sidelines no more. He put so many years into this game. He's cool. He don't need to be on the sideline."
