After more than 80 shows across 20 countries, One Direction played the final gig of their 'On the Road' tour in Sheffield on Saturday.
The band, who have been touring the world since late last year, got emotional as they thanked their fans and insisted that they are taking a break as a group in order to focus on their solo projects. From this point on they will only have a few appearances together at award shows before they take a temporary break in March 2016.

While on stage, Harry Styles gave a highly emotional speech saying "One Direction has been a bank for five years, four months, two weeks and a couple of days" before Niall jumped in and added "I still cannot believe this. I remember five years ago we were playing small cafes and now we are here with all of you."
With the four remaining members keen to pursue solo projects, rumors have been going around that their Sheffield show will be the last time we will ever see them as One Direction. A fan who was present at the show said "With how they closed tonight's concert, I feel like I will never see them get back together and perform as a group ever again."
The band thanked their family members during their emotional closing, Liam Payne was forced to apologize to his mom, who was at the show, for swearing on stage.
As a final gift to their fans, the group announced that they will be releasing their fifth studio album later this month.
They are also scheduled to perform at a number of award shows later this year and early next year.
