China J-20's Homegrown Engines to Incorporate Powder Metallurgy Superalloys

China's J-20 stealth fighter jet is set to receive homegrown engines that incorporate Powder Metallurgy superalloy turbine disks, China Daily reported. Currently, the jet is powered by Russian-produced Saturn AL-31F engines, but China plans to replace these between 2018 and 2019.
