Lenovo has taken a swipe at Xiaomi's Redmi series by launching new smartphones that look hauntingly similar to the latter's flagship device. At the 2016 IFA conference in Berlin, Germany, Lenovo unveiled the new K6 line of smartphones. Lenovo said that it would release three smartphone models under the K6 brand.

At a quick look, the Lenovo K6 shares a lot of design cues with the Xiaomi Redmi. The two smartphones have identical rounded metal design, a protruding rear camera sensor, and a fingerprint scanner located on the rear just below the LED flash.

However, looking under the hood would instantly reveal some massive differences between the two devices. Lenovo is kicking off its newest brand with two models, the Lenovo K6 and the K6 Power.

Both the Lenovo K6, and the K6 Power models have a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution. Both models will also sport a 13-megapixel rear facing shooter, and an 8-megapixel front facing camera. Both models would also have 3GB of memory, and 32GB of storage space.

The only difference between the two devices is their battery pack. According to Giz China, the standard Lenovo K6 would have a 3000mAh battery, while the K6 Power model will have a juicier 4000mAh pack.

The third model is the K6 Note, which is a tad bigger and would be at home in the tablet section. The Lenovo K6 Note sports a bigger 5.5-inch Full HD display. It has 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage space. The Note also comes with a slightly upgraded rear camera with 16-megapixel and the same 8-megapixel front shooter. Since the Note is a bigger device, it also has a bigger 4000mAh battery pack.

In terms of computing specs, all three Lenovo K6 models share the same Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with an octa-core processor, four of which are clocked at 1.5GHz while the other four are clocked at 1.2GHz, according to GSM Arena. All the models also support microSD cards for storage expansion.

The standard Lenovo K6 model would be released within the month, while the K6 Power and the K6 Note would hit the shelves in November.
