A Chinese company has conducted a survey to gauge the motivational level of youngsters for jobs and compare them to previous generations. The survey revealed that Chinese people aged 20 years and below are likely to be less ambitious despite enjoying better living conditions.

The report stated that the career ambitions of the post-95 generation are more linked to glamor as 60 percent these respondents said they wanted to become online celebrities. This also highlights the growth of the online video streaming industry in China. Among the older generation, only about 40 percent showed interest in online fame.

According to the report, 15 percent of the post-95 generation expressed the desire to work in entertainment-related businesses. China Radio International quoted Ding Yu, a sociologist at Sun Yat-sen University, saying that this pattern indicates the young generation's "desire for a quick way to success."

The survey found the post-95 generation to be more realistic and less ambitious in their goals. Their focus is more on enjoying small and concrete happiness. The generation also prefers working for state-owned enterprises rather than for foreign companies.

China Daily reported that more than half of the respondents stated that their first job would not be a high-paying one. However, working for the government has fallen out of favor and did not figure among top three choices.

Tan Jie, deputy director of Public Relations at Tencent's Qzone, said that post-95 generation has been online since they were born and this sets them apart from previous generations. His team conducted the survey; polling more than 4,000 subjects to reach their conclusions.
