Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was recently at the receiving end of a highly publicized controversy regarding allegations that he only attends team events when he feels like it.

Reports claimed that Bryant has skipped at least20 meetings, and that figure may even jump as high as 40, during his Cowboys career.

These events were not only team meetings, reports alleged that Bryant even failed to show up on important medical treatment sessions.

According to ESPN.com, Bryant skipped "seven or eight" scheduled medical treatments in 2015, back when he was still trying to recover from his foot injury.

Amid this, the Cowboys management reportedly did not levy any sort of punishment for the wide receiver, a fact that might have spurred animosity in the Cowboys locker room.

Despite this polarizing practice, some of Bryant's teammates are still lauding him for his athletic prowess once on the field.

An unnamed Cowboys player told ESPN, "If you were hoping for him to come to a scheduled meeting, he may or may not be there; but if you need a first down on third-and-14, throw it to Dez."

Although the Cowboys has never levied a tough penalty on Bryant regarding his absences, the organization has imposed fines on him.

Last week, the Cowboys issued a fine on Bryant for not showing up for his MRI session scheduled on Monday. Bryant eventually did the MRI test, and it was discovered that he sustained a hairline fracture in his knee, an injury which is expected to keep him on the sideline during his team's game against the 49ers on Sunday.
